Crop Protection - Crop Nutrient - Custom Application - Seed - Seed Treatment

With fall fast approaching there are a lot of things to look forward to and a couple things to look back upon. With almost perfect growing conditions for most of the area everyone is fairly optimistic about the crop in the field. Now is the time to go out in to your fields and grade the crop. Do I have nutrient deficiency? Is there disease present? Is there insect damage? How was my weed control?   All of these things could be limiting your yield potential. Keeping track of these things will allow you to make changes in your operation for next year’s crop. We will have a check list available and can arrange to go out with you to answer any questions.
Looking ahead to this fall and next year’s crop there are a few things to do. There is some volatility in the fertilizer market. Not to make everyone thinking of a couple years ago when we saw extreme highs and then a crash over the winter, but there is some volatility. That is why it is important to communicate your needs to us. It makes it easier for both you the farmer and us at GPC to plan out our fertilizer situations. We have a few different options for fall purchases so give the GPC sales staff a call to figure out which option is best for your operation. Another thing to check is when your fields last had a soil test. With all the bushels last year and the potential there is this year it might be a good idea to see how much an extra 20-30 bushels removes.
As always remember to be safe around equipment, bins, and on the roads.

SoyGreen

·         SoyGreen is a dry water soluble powder 6% Iron ORTHO, ORTHO EDDHA Chelate. SoyGreen is manufactured utilizing a superior chelating process compared to current processes currently being used by the fertilizer industry. SoyGreen should improve the availability of iron to field crops. The target crop for SoyGreen is soybeans grown in areas with a history of iron deficiency chlorosis, however, other field crops may benefit from SoyGreen applications when uptake of iron is a limiting factor.

·         SoyGreen is recommended as an in-furrow soil or foliar applied fertilizer for use on any food or fiber crop where the addition iron would be beneficial.

·         2008 testing done by Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative indicates an increase in tons per acre and revenue per acre, when SoyGreen is applied in-furrow at 1lb per acre.
